The main export varieties of steel are plate, accounting for 69%, followed by rod and wire, accounting for 11%, pipe accounted for 10%, and corner profiles accounted for 5%. In 2024, China's export increment is mainly sheet metal, which increased by 7.18 million tons from January to May compared with the same period in 2023, of which the hot-rolled plate increased by 4.47 million tons, the cold-rolled plate increased by 560,000 tons, and the medium-thick plate increased by 300,000 tons.
